Artist studio with Robert Lippok

Gamma_ONSCREEN's arranging a visit to the studio of Robert Lippok, German musician with a strong multidisciplinary approach. Lippok's work in music and sound channels the rawness of his East German industrial and dissident punk and postpunk roots in both East and reunified Berlin. He is one of the Raster Media artists where he released full-length "Applied Autonomy" that followed 2011's "Redsuperstructure" (Raster-Noton). He collaborates with visual artists as well and performed at festivals like MUTEK, Unsound, L.E.V, GAMMA, at Berghain and Funkhaus Berlin and others.

Retrospective. We (All) Search
19:00 (MSK)
Gamma_ONSCREEN presents early music videos of Berlin-based visual artist Ali M. Demirel. As a video artist, Demirel started to experiment with sound and image in early 90s. In 2001, he produced his first video work with a sound from another artist by using the track titled 'Psyk' from Plastikman. This was the beginning of his adventure in electronic music videos. Following 7 years, he collaborated with various electronic musicians and produced videos with various styles. 'W…' presents an edit with found-footage of political content while '$100' presents an animation technique with a provocative humour, and his long-lasting collaboration with Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman defined a minimal, dark and eerie style in the genre. The screening is also dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Richie Hawtin.

AV Conversation. Boiling Earth

19:00 (MSK)

Gamma_ONSCREEN presents the online premiere of AV performance "Boiling Earth" by Berlin-based studio LichtPfad. Stanislav Glazov and Natalie Golubenko work together at the intersection of visual art, design, and technology. On the verge of a new epoch, they created an audiovisual performance "Boiling Earth", that addresses the question of humanity's place in the Universe. The concept idea came out of the helplessness artists felt at watching another disaster hits the world. Through creative fictional and non-fictional engagement with video content, the emotive, sensual is accessed.

The release marks the first full length album from ℌEXOℜℭℑSMOS's ongoing research focused on Artificial Intelligence for raw audio synthesis. The work revolves around the idea of transfiguration, approaching the Neural Network as an alchemical technology for distillation of styles. Taking cues from the technoshamanistic ideas present in the works of Interspecifics Collective and their approach to non-human intelligences, ፕዪልክነቻጎኗሁዪልርጎዐ́ክ, treats the GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) as a kind of homunculus able to morph one sound design aesthetic into another, while preserving the audio input's cadence and long form structure.
